Gifts to QU EMS Program contribute to...
Quinnipiac University EMS is a student-run, state-certified supplemental first responder agency. Our mission is to serve the Quinnipiac community, providing 911 response on campus in addition to many education initiatives. We aim to be a leader in collegiate emergency medical services, striving for excellence in everything we do. QU EMS is proud to recognize our many members who continuously devote themselves to our mission.
Since our founding in 2019, QU EMS has grown tremendously. Our membership now consists of over 90 students, both EMTs and Auxiliary members, who work tirelessly to support the agency. Over the last six years, members have volunteered over 17,000 hours serving the Quinnipiac community, responding to almost 500 calls for service. Additionally, our community education branch has continued to flourish, teaching almost 2,000 students since the foundation of the Quinnipiac University Training Site in 2022. QU EMS was also thrilled to plan and host a mass casualty incident drill in April of 2024. This drill was the first in the region after many years and saw the participation of over 10 local EMS agencies/partners, as well as 150 individual participants.
QU EMS has been recognized by the National Collegiate EMS Foundation for our tremendous achievements. In 2022, we were awarded the HEARTSafe Campus Award, recognizing our efforts in CPR education and response capabilities. Additionally, in 2024, QU EMS was awarded the EMS Ready Campus Award (Bronze), as well as the Striving for Excellence Award.
