WQAQ is Quinnipiac’s student-run radio station, operating on 98.1 FM out of Hamden and streaming online worldwide. We have 24/7 programming across music, talk, sports, and other exciting content by students: this semester, we have 96 shows with 120 on-air hosts! WQAQ is open to any Quinnipiac community members, and boasts membership from students of majors from all areas of Quinnipiac. Our 160 active members have opportunities to host air shows, but they also have opportunities to photograph concerts, attend live music events as a member of the press, write content for our website, and encounter invaluable experiences that help our members make the most of their college experience while preparing them for careers beyond WQAQ.

WQAQ alumni have gone on to work for Sirius XM, The Tampa Bay Times, WWE, Manic Presents, Live Nation, ESPN, Quinnipiac, WEEI, NBA, The US Open, and countless other organizations. WQAQ provides members with important opportunities to help them grow, both as individuals and professionals.

Donor support helps us support our members and provide them with opportunities and activities throughout the year. Your donations will help us fund:

• On-Air Operation! Funding ensures we can maintain and support the equipment, software, and necessary licensing to stay on air! This also supports our digital stream that allows friends and family to listen in to WQAQ from anywhere on the globe!
• Gear & Equipment! Your donations contribute to the costs of equipment like headphones, audio cables, computer equipment, plus office equipment like chairs, printing, and other assorted costs.
• Fall Fest! WQAQ collaborates with the Student Programming Board each year to host QU’s annual concert on the quad. Fall Fest is a cornerstone of campus culture and allows students to enjoy live music, games, crafts, food, and custom merchandise, all at no cost to attendees! We love being able to bring in major artists and fun, engaging activities for students to interact with their community at the beginning of each academic year, but it takes a significant amount of funding and volunteer effort to put this event together.
• Media Learning & Press Opportunities! WQAQ operates as a fully functional, FCC-Licensed FM radio station, but we are also a press publication, allowing students to get press accreditation to attend concerts, interview artists, and photograph live music. Your donations will help us expand our reach, bringing WQAQ to new venues and creating relationships with new contacts. Donations can also contribute to camera costs, allowing us to let more students photograph concerts without requiring them to already own a professional digital camera.
• The Student Experience! While we pride ourselves on our professional operation, we are still college students! We love to put on fun events like craft nights, bingos, and trivias, and we want to give our members merchandise so they can wear their love for WQAQ on their sleeves (literally). None of these things are free, and they are often the first things we have to cut when looking to reduce costs. Your donation will help us intentionally set money towards these things to make sure our members are fully supported as young adults and make the most of their college experience through WQAQ.
