QU EMS Program

Quinnipiac University EMS is a student-led, state-certified first responder agency dedicated to serving the campus community through 911 response and education. We aim to set the standard for collegiate EMS, driven by the commitment of our members. Since 2019, QU EMS has grown to over 90 members. In seven years, we’ve logged more than 20,000 volunteer hours, responded to nearly 700 calls, and trained approximately 2,750 students through our education programs. We also hosted a large-scale mass casualty incident drill in 2024 with over 150 participants and multiple regional partners. This past year brought significant advancements. QU EMS supported a LifeStar landing on campus, added overnight weekend coverage, renovated the EMS room, launched an in-house inventory system, and expanded clinical care with aspirin deployment. In 2026, we also onboarded and trained 31 new EMTs. Our work continues to earn national recognition, including a repeat HEARTSafe Campus Award, along with previous honors such as the EMS Ready Campus Award (Bronze) and the Striving for Excellence Award.
